Graduation Treats

7 Jun

My son graduated this week from pre-school this week.  Yes, a pre-school graduation.  I realize some might think its silly and others might find it down right crazy that I actually teared up as he walked out in his little tiny cap and gown…

Nonetheless, it was a lot of fun and we are definitely proud parents!

For the occasion I made little take home treats.  After checking out this post I tried my hand at the candy cup graduation caps.

I used dark chocolate peanut butter cups and dark chocolate Godiva squares.  For the “tassels” I used two Twizzlers that I cut down and then peeled apart.  The little dot on top was the end of a Hot Tamale, cut off using kitchen shears.

I opted to exclude the sticks and instead bagged them in clear plastic with pretty sticky tape and a homemade sticker of the school’s emblem and name.

I got a lot of compliments on them and everyone seemed very appreciative.  Of course the kids loved the chocolate!  I think most importantly, having a little something beautiful to take home makes any event feel extra special.
