Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

29 Feb

Friday is Dr. Seuss’s birthday!  Dr. Seuss has been inspiring young readers for years.  My son will be celebrating with Dr. Seuss at school on Friday and the kids are encouraged to dress in their best Seussical tees.

Although we’re all great fans of Dr. Seuss we don’t actually own a single Dr. Seuss T-Shirt.  To remedy that I purchased a quarter of some cotton Cat in the Hat fabric and some Heat and Bond.

I cut some “neck ties” out of the fabric and ironed it on a plain t-shirt.  To secure the “tie” I added a decorative stitch with some embroidery thread.

The kids looked great and totally festive!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!  Thank you for all the learning fun!

Love your idea…..seriously, you need to work for Martha Stewart or at least “sell” your ideas to her for her show and magazine….. girl, get paid for that creative mind of yours! Super cute t-shirts and super cute kids! Vickie

The tees are so cute. Great idea. I’m sure Owen will be the only one with a tee like that. And as for the models (your boys) they are just adorable.

Thanks! I think they’re pretty darn cute too! It was a lot of fun to watch them play with the giant confetti!

Adorable! You are so talented. I agree with Vicki get paid for your creativity. Etsy is a great website to showcase your talent and get a little mad money 🙂 Owen & Aiden are perfect little models .
